The M5 Heidenhain version features a 5-inch touchscreen compatible with the entire Heidenhain incremental sensor range (Certo, MT12, MT25, MT101, Specto...), as well as Magnescale and Mitutoyo LG-series sensors. It is particularly popular for high-precision watchmaking applications.
On the connectivity side, it offers USB and RS232 (ASCII/Modbus RTU) ports plus a foot pedal input. It manages 10 programs in memory, sorting into 16 configurable classes, and mathematical functions, and adapts to both simple applications and complex multi-sensor inspection.
The M5 Heidenhain version is an industrial touchscreen display dedicated to incremental sensors, scales, and encoders. Compatible with the entire Heidenhain range (Certo, MT12, MT25, MT101, Specto...) as well as Magnescale and Mitutoyo LG-series sensors, it is particularly popular for high-precision watchmaking applications.
Simple to configure, it simultaneously displays up to 3 characteristics with color-coded tolerance indicators, and adapts to both simple applications and complex multi-sensor inspections.
M5 displays are not only compatible with the entire Heidenhain's range of probes and scale(Certo, MT12, MT25, MT101, Specto...) but it offers a great flexibility and a wide panel of functions with a user friendly interface.
The M5 connects to the entire range of Heidenhain incremental sensors (Certo, MT12, MT25, MT101, Specto...), with Sinus 11µA, 1Vpp, or TTL output, as well as Magnescale and Mitutoyo LG-series sensors. A solution particularly popular for high-precision watchmaking applications.
The M5 manages up to 10 programs in memory, sorting into 16 configurable classes, and mathematical functions (calculations between characteristics, trigonometry). Temperature compensation is available via the external MB-TP module. Administrator password protection and a fully customizable interface ensure simple, secure operation. Compatible with barcode and QR code readers.
Measurements can be saved:
Ideal for R&R studies.
The Heidenhain version features 2 sensor connectors (A and B) allowing direct connection of Heidenhain, Magnescale, or Mitutoyo LG incremental sensors, scales, or encoders. It also includes the 24VDC power supply, the M-Bus port, the USB-A port, the RS232 port, the foot pedal input, and the USB-C port.
Up to 4 MB-IO modules can be connected, providing up to 32 optocoupled inputs/outputs. A graphical interface makes it easy to assign a function to each terminal and test the wiring:
Particularly useful for automating a sorting or 100% inspection station.
The M5 communicates with a PLC via Modbus RTU, in addition to the RS232 port (ASCII, QDAS-compatible) for dialogue with a PC. It integrates easily into automated measurement benches, such as when mounting a Heidenhain Specto sensor on a Sylvac PS15 bench for watchmaking applications.
Diameter measurement in 3 points on a PMS table. By entering the "3 points diameter" mode on the M5, the diameter of the measurement keys will have to be filled in (as it is taken into account in the calculation formula) and 2 standards will have to be used for the calibration.
Measurement of very small watch parts. Here the M5 is connected with a Heidenhain SPECTO probe, mounted on a Sylvac PS15 measuring bench.
Retrofit of a small manual milling machine. Installation of 2 Heidenhain linear scales on the machine, connected to a M5 display with the double bargraph display mode, allowing to see both axis.
Internal diameter measurements on 2 different parts. Here the M5 displays only 1 characteristic. When the operator move a probe, the corresponding measurement appears on the screen. This functionnality allows to use only 1 display for 2 parts, and the operator has not to touch the display or change parameters for switching the part. A footswitch can be connect for preseting or to transfert the data to a computer.
The MB-IO M-Bus box has 8 optocoupled inputs/outputs for additional functionality, e.g. output of good or bad parts, calibration input etc. The M-Bus units are presented in an aluminum profile that can be mounted on a standard DIN rail. More details on this page: M-BUS
This robust and ergonomic button is made on a machined aluminum base.
It advantageously replaces the pedal when it is used on a table.
Compatible with all Metro products: Displays and multiplexers.
This sturdy pedal can be configured in different ways: calibration, measurement transmission, start of dynamic measurement etc...
Allows the connection of compatible M-Bus boxes to an M3 display for Heidenhain probes or Air gages.
The M3 for inductives probes require a cable ref 81210-2
This adapter cable allows to connect 1 Magnescale sensor (Sony) on TTL display unit. The SUBD-15 connector contains an electronic card which manages the error signal of a Magnescale sensor.
This cable is used to connect the M2/M3 to a computer.
This cable allows to connect the Heidenhain sensors with the M23 round plug and 11µA signal on a M2 (ref 15020) or M3 (ref 13020) display.
This cable allows to connect 1 Mitutoyo sensor on a TTL display.
This cable is used to connect the M2/M3 to a Metro Mux multiplexer
The MB-TP module is used to read a type K thermocouple or a PT100 probe and use it on a Metro display to create an alarm on a temperature variation or to perform temperature compensation of the measurement.
